Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Of course, there's always micro wind turbines

I haven't run the numbers, but get the impression that the payback for a whole net metered system for this alone would look pretty bad.

On the other hand, as a supplement to a solar PV system with battery and grid connection, it might be better.

Hugh Piggot's axial flux PMG design ... free copy of earlier plans ... but it seems to be a higher-rev generator.

... but everything taken together, I'd rather be able to buy power shares in a utility grade wind farm and get my return as an electricity dividend per month.

I've been accused of being a Marxist, yet while Harpo's my favourite, it's Groucho I'm always quoting. Odd, that.

That's why one of my other major projects is to get some land co-ops going in Klickitat County (neighbor to the east). They have installed, or being installed, 2 billion USD worth of wind turbines in the county. I want in - how about you?
