Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Damn that credit crunch.

In the interests of science (and while they were deciding who got which limb) The crocodiles explained the dynamics of crunches to me, they went through a serious one about...oh...150,000,000 years ago was their guess.

"Same old same old," one of them sighed, and I took that opportunity to say, "Look!  A wounded zebra!" and then I legged it out of there...

...only to be kidnapped by aliens who have a whole time stretch thing going on, and yes, I had a great series of lives, some not so good ones, saw a couple of stars explode, met some interesting lifeforms.  They were friendly, the aliens.  They dropped me back fifteen seconds before I jumped into the crocodile infested river with the words (okay, they were direct vibrations of my brain, but they sounded like...):

"Don't jump into that river, it's full of crocodiles."

Don't fight forces, use them R. Buckminster Fuller.

Crocodiles are pretty knowledgeable about crunches. I'm surprised they explained though. Usually they do show not tell.

Ah...the cogitating crocs.  I blame those nature films for this "they'll just eat anything, rip tear, small brains, all instinct, no reflection" myth.  Truth is, the people with the video cameras sit down beforehand with the crocs and explain, "Yes, well, I know you like to discuss economics with your victims prior to eating them.  And yes, your sauces and dips are very nice.  But...the public wants gnashing.  Teeth.  Ripping and tearing.  Can you do that?  Oh, btw, that herd of zebras over there...are for you...if you know what I mean."

Unfortunately I have come to an agreement with other people chez rg that we will be going through an abstinence regime in re: screens and output thereof.  To whit: part 2 will be arriving sometime around midwinter.

Also, those aliens were back last night, they explained...well....it's all very complicated.

In the meantime, for your very good self:

Cough cough!  I don't know how that happened.

On a more serious note, here's the second movement--the Lento--from the Shostakovich mentioned above:

Don't fight forces, use them R. Buckminster Fuller.
