I've been accused of being a Marxist, yet while Harpo's my favourite, it's Groucho I'm always quoting. Odd, that.

No--that might have been during my alien abduction.  This was playing as the great star they'd worshipped lo those seven billion years finally exploded.

"Rachmaninov?" I said.

"Of course," the Rachmaninov fans replied.

I love that Bluegrass ... a clearer clip of the song, from the Crossroads Festival

That other one ... I dunno. I'd have to say that I ... uh ... just don't know.

the dmitri intro sounded almost like a protoboogie bassline, and the right hand's sparse, angular melody quite 'outside'. loved it.

nicest tom waits song, he's not imitating himself, sweet n simple, clever lyric, but it's the heart in the chords, rhythm and vocals that charms.

fela's groove is so magnetic, the piano noodlin' away almost aimlessly, music like a warm bath of colours...

nice selection!

and so good to have you back :)
