Cambridge beer fest sounds a good plan for an ET meetup

Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.

The difficulty is that Cambridge is now really only worth going to tuesday or wednesday now. thursday and friday evening are sardine time and on the saturday there's very little beer left and so serving times are ridiculous. also huge queues unless you're a CAMRA member.

A pub crawl of Cambridge would be fun on any saturday, but the beer fest on a saturday would be a nuisance.

whether large-scale or small. Current plan is to be in that area around May 17 - 19.

No pub crawls for me, but 1 or 2 good pints will be 'warmly' appreciated.

You could have 4 half-pints, at which point a pub crawl becomes a possibility.

Pub crawls are not the gruelling endurance test you might imagine. Maybe they were amongst certain macho types in their late teens, early 20s but I'm past 50 now and a short stroll between beers simply breaks up the scenery and sharpens the thirst.

In Cambridge there's a lovely crawl to be had between 4 pubs where the longest walk is perhaps 15 minutes and the total distance is a leisurely two miles.

however, 17/18 is colchester weekend rather than Cambridge if you want a beer fest. Nevertheless, I'm quite sure that nearer the time something can be found that will meet requirements.

Heck, if you want, york is do-able. which is a town you simply have to visit (still functioning viking drainage systems - like the paris catacombs but without the graffiti)

Modified pub crawl for old folks (we're 60s) will probably work.
