Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

I may be game for Friday too, depending a little on how the trains match up.

When does your train get in? Do you want to meet us for dinner even if you can't make the walk?

We're scheduled to arrive at Paris East around 8 in the morning, with the TGV from Metz. According to the schedule DB gave me, I can be in Chatelet or Paris Nord around half an hour after that.

Sounds like you have plenty of time. We're planning to meet at 4pm for the Pere Lachaise walk at Metro station Phillipe Auguste.

Alas, I won't be able to attend.  Got slammed by added workload in the last couple weeks as we got into crunch time for our survey cycle, so that should keep me extremely busy until the end of October.

Maybe next time. :\

Damn, I was looking forward to showing you the bars of Paris (not that the draught is great and the bottles are expensive and mostly belgian, but... )

Yeah, it sucks, but there'll be other opportunities.  Even if I didn't have much interest in seeing Paris (obviously not the case), my better half wouldn't allow me to pass it up.

Urg, I too will not be able to come. After many scheduling problems I had to agree that my parents could come visit or risk serious breakdowns in diplomatic relations. Very annoying. Hope you all have a splendid time!

Sorry you can't attend - but diplomatic relations with parents are important too. :-) Hope to see you again next time.

Since I haven't written anything, to update: I am still coming, depending on sorting out 2 euros and 50 cents with Deutsche Bahn. I should be there from Friday morning (but the night train may affect my ability to do something until later in the afternoon) to Sunday evening.

Do you want to come to the Pere Lachaise walk and/or the dinner afterwards?

You can put me down for the dinner, and as a probable for the Pere Lachaise walk.
