I hope the weather's as good as it was last year. "The future is already here -- it's just not very evenly distributed" William Gibson
Was really hoping to meet you and Solveig this time. The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion, but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence.
Having just lost a consulting job due to something i blogged several years ago in the run-up to Iraq escalation, for a case i cared about where Mitsubishi was challenging GE's variable speed patents, i am not able to associate with bloggers anymore. (That's a joke, that's a joke, but how did those shit lawyers find that thing?)
for comparison, i also will not be in Stockholm next week for the EWEA offshore wind meetup. And to squelch the tin hat brigade, i am also not in Regensburg Germany for the Group games of the Baseball World Cup this weekend. (opening game Deutschland 14 China 1. Now we have to go up against USA and Venezuela! Talk about mountain climbing.)
Goes without saying i wish you all a time of joy and wonder. "Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." - Anaïs Nin
About your job, that is even lousier news and somehow amazing. And do I understand correctly you will not be around ET (associating with bloggers) anymore? that would be bad news too. :-(
(and for the anonymity hah!)
That you all know how sad i am not to be there is important. I spend a fair amount of time here, and it's due to the quality of the community and its insights.
(It's worse not being at the Baseball World Cup.) (No, that's a joke) (No, that's a joke.) (I wanted to support my teammates and the rest of Deutschland against the USA profis. Asi es la vida.) But i will try to make significant steps in readying the new Wohnung. "Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." - Anaïs Nin
you are the media you consume.
We'll miss you. Heck, we miss you already. Time to start plotting a meetup in Bremen.
