Well indeed: it was government led by a right-liberal party that is loaded with some neoliberal extremists.
Despite any legitimate objectios about Socrates, I can say that his struggle to resist the ECB et altri pressure from December 2010 until his resignation was rather heroic and cunning, too.
Could you tell me more about that? To me it seemed to be a futile attempt to avoid the worst by implementing a weakened version of the austerity medicine rather than something different. He spoke up against loss of sovereignty, but didn't have ideas how to do something different and predictably alienated voters (who then had no better idea than vote for someone worse). *Lunatic*, n.
