(1) Too complicated, too little, but better do something than nothing, which is the US governments current carbon pricing.

(2) I don't see how that is similar to "what I am claiming" ... there isn't any secret conspiracy to convince people in the US of the economic bullshit that federal deficits are horrible things in and of themselves ... its done in the open. People spreading bullshit convenient for wealthy people get paid to do so, that's called a "think tank".

(3) The hurricane is indeed likely to affect the thinking of low information and swing voters.
