Yes. It's a familiar landscape you are describing. There are many similarities to the disaster as it unfolds in Greece, something like Greece on a 6-12 month delay, but with "poorer" starting conditions.
As I have said, it takes only a few months before one realizes that austerity is not an economic prescription, but an act of political, social and economic sabotage...

Is there any ongoing popular reaction to this, protest and/or poll - wise? Are there any extreme-right groups empowered under these circumstances?
