They were clueless as to how to deal with the euro-crisis a couple of years ago; now they are absolutely not interested in discussing solutions which don't fit the frame.

They have an obvious interest in not being revealed as having been barking mad for the last two or three years, so they keep barking so long as people keep listening respectfully.
