Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

A beautiful piece of writing. The effect is amplified by my personal sense of place -- I spent time in the Queen Charlotte sounds as a child -- and I have a vague plan to do that route myself, though preferably by sea kayak rather than on foot. Before I get too old.

But just beautiful. I am fascinated by the man/woman stuff and have tried to write on it myself. Will keep trying.

Did wonder about your response and perhaps IdiotSavant's in case he'd be around, considering the setting. Can I just repeat here that I find NZ off the scale beautiful? How come one would leave? :)

Man/woman dynamics are truly one of life's great, fascinating pivots, and I find the best thing about it is its incessant uniqueness. So keep on keeping on with your own writing, that should be interesting.
