Here are some non-rail pictures shot during last summer's journey on the Mariazellerbahn.

The main street in Mariazell:

The Mariazell Basilica (a particularly odd mix of 15th-century Gothic and 17th-18th-century Baroque):

The dark Erlauf Reservoir (a bit north of Mariazell):

The Lassingbach creek meanders across the empty Lassing Reservoir (one of the two feeding the power plant which supplies power to the rail line):
