  1. an attempt to change or crystalise public opinion on the current direction?
  2. an attempt to face down the EU27 {!!}
  3. internal politics to face down the 40 to 60 Conservative MPs (and Kate Hoey, Frank Field, et al,  from 'Labour') who think no deal is better than a bad deal (i.e. any practical deal on offer, since June 2016)?
  4. a serious committment to present no-deal as a practical option?
