Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Britain's defence ministry said on Wednesday it had launched an investigation into a video circulating on social media apparently showing soldiers using a picture of opposition Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn for target practice.

The video, posted on Snapchat, shows four paratroopers firing shots at the picture with the caption "happy with that".

"We are aware of a video circulating on social media," an Army spokesperson said. "This behaviour is totally unacceptable and falls well below the high standards the Army expects. A full investigation has been launched."

Does he mean they missed?

No problems with the Torys destroying the economy, the cooperative defence system, international policing, etc.

News flash, the Tridents are going away because Little England won't be able to afford them, even if the US of A decides to provide additional subsidies and free rockets.

Trident? But they are in Scotland. And we are going to keep them.
There's a guid feck o fowk wha'd gang further an ettle tae mak a virtue o this security necessity. They wad gang agin aa the orthodoxy o independence an actually advocate us keepin a haud o Trident lang efter the vote.

This isnae a fringe opinion. Sic kenspeckle cheils as security consultant an independence supporter Stuart Crawford support the thriep that pragmatism aroon issues sic as Trident could gie us a vital caird tae play in the post-referendum negotiations wi the rUK, an keep us in the muckle security jaiket that keeps us mair-or-less protectit the noo.

The Tories have always had a little quietly spoken message in the media that Labour cannot be trusted with the economy and are unreliable with the nation's security. With Corbyn this has become a screamed-from-the-rooftops declaration that Corbyn is a traitor & a terrorist sympathiser who will impose marxist destruction of the UK economy.

Of course, some people are hearing traitor and terrorist sympathiser and believing they provide Article II-type remedies. Jo Cox was shot during the referendum campaign and recently another far right activist was jailed for plotting to kill another Labour MP. Corbyn himself was recently punched in the face, but the media chose to suggest he'd merely been egged on the head. Stochastic terrorism is a thing and the Tories are deliberately stoking the fire.

I doubt this army thing will be the last, more Labour MPs are going to be killed because the tories and the media have decided that, in their quest for power, democraratic norms are expendable, or at least flexible.

yes, they don't mind the shooting of Corbyn, or even of the filming. They do object to the video being put online.
