Looks like about 4% of what I think will be the vote is now in.

The link goes to the US Elections Project, which is a tracker run by two political science professors at the University of Florida.

We should get to 7.5-8m votes in today. Most expect turnout to top 150m.

Not sure we can read much into it for now, but it's noteworthy that Democrats are not only voting more via mail and in-person-early (which was expected), but they're returning their mail ballots at higher (sometimes a lot higher) rates.

Which is unheard of, basically.

Note that California and Texas are just starting to report, and we don't have much in yet from Ohio and Pennsylvania.

So that turnout number may jump pretty quickly.

Remember that Trump got 2,000,000 more votes than Romney. These were new therefore "unlikely" voters and so did not pass the LV polling screens.

Now up to 10.5m votes in. Should hit 11 today, maybe even 12.

Eyeballing it, it looks like Dems' advantage in ballot return rates is growing.
