I don't know what it ways about this community that nobody has mentioned yet the fact that Helen was a trans woman. It's not like she didn't blog about it either, as well as making occasional comments on trans-exclusionary radical feminism, the rise of far-right LGBT-phobia, and the like. I guess at a minimum this blind spot says that gender issues continue to be taboo, even on this site despite protestations to the contrary.
