Do you think the war had anything to do with moving the Republic toward its recent constitutional reforms?

No. There is no connection I can think of. The reforms really only happened 20 years after the war had effectively ended, and were not driven by Sinn Fein, although they did end up supporting them to keep up with its younger voting base. The collapse of the moral authority of the Catholic Church in the wake of the sexual abuse scandals and church cover-up was probably the main factor.
