ChaptGPT newsqueak | Michael Cohen Admits to Stealing From Trump in Blow to Alvin Bragg's Case, T -"one week ago" [23 May? nope]
Cohen is a key prosecution witness in the trial after previously admitting to making the $130,000 payment to Daniels.

During Cohen's testimony Monday [20 May], Trump attorney Todd Blanche questioned him about a payment to tech company Red Finch. Cohen paid the company $20,000 from the $50,000 he received from the Trump Organization for financial services, according to Newsweek reporter Katherine Fung, who is covering the trial from the courtroom.

Cohen admitted to billing the Trump Organization for the full expense even though he never paid Red Finch the entire amount. When Blanche asked Cohen if he stole from the Trump Organization, given the $20,000 Red Finch payment, Cohen answered, "Yes, sir."

reasonable doubts
Michael McAuliffe [!], a former federal prosecutor [1989-1990, 1994-1999] and former elected [FL 2008-2012] state attorney, told Newsweek that "it will come as little to no surprise to the jurors that Cohen padded an invoice and kept the overage."

"The issue is whether all the evidence taken together convinces the jury—all the jurors—that Cohen's testimony rings true, that it makes sense, when it comes to his interactions with Trump as to the payments to hide affairs and disguise them as legal expenses," McAuliffe continued.
