Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

May meet-up anyone?

by paul spencer Tue Apr 6th, 2010 at 04:06:09 PM EST

Mirta and I had to delay our Europe visit for several reasons, but our schedule is definite now. On the advice of friends we also modified our itinerary to concentrate on France and the UK on this trip.

At this point we plan to visit Melanchthon on May 7 and 8, LEP on May 11, and Chris Cook around May 22/23. We have tentative plans for some beers with Helen sometime between May 20 and June 1.

We'll be in Paris from May 12 - 19. As I mentioned in my first diary on the subject, we have friends from the old days in Austin who are spending the whole month in Paris; and we have some definite plans for various activities with them - meaning that we would like to include them in any get-together plans.

An ET friend suggested a Paris meet-up dinner - or ? - on May 15. What do y'all think? As I also mentioned in the earlier diary, if Jerome participates, we don't let him pay the bill. If anything, we owe him a free meal.

We would love to meet some of the UK contingent, too. We'll be specifically in London from May 29 - 31, if anyone wants to aim for that venue.

One last question - anybody know of any May 1 activities in the Bordeaux region?

Beer with Helen sounds good. I am happy to fit in with other plans, but I can put something together to suit all requirements (so long as it's real ale)

If you can firm up May 15th in Paris, I might be able to nip over for that too.

Hi Paul. I'm guessing you'll be staying with us the night of May 11 which is a Tuesday. Looking forward to it.

Sounds good. We've got some time to figure that one out. We'll be staying near Heathrow at that point, but we should be able to get around easily enough.

We should be somewhere in the Cotswolds area by then. It wouldn't be difficult for us to get to London for dinner or ?  You could probably quote the railroad schedule for us to get from there to your vicinity.
