Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind...Albert Einstein
and this:
pretty hard to imagine that it will once again, ever again, look like this:
We seem set for a few days and nights on the plus side, so hopefully winter will be put behind us soon.
Now the question is, after a conference day with cultural bureaucrats, should I go to the free networking bar and dinner tonight, plus the final farewell performance of a long-lived band called Los Tumpelos, or watch a few Downton Abbeys (that were slipped in to my regular delivery of mind-expansion in the hope, of the dealer, that I would be mainlining before episode 3.) He will be disappointed - I find them irritatingly like Lost - itself the epitome of overemotional multiple personality disorder picaresque.
So when I say I am seriously considering spending time with people who handle alcohol badly, and may even dance luridly to the chugging mineralness of LosT (you see a meme developing here?), it doesn't cast 3rd millennium English television in a particularly good light.
Perhaps I'll just go for the dinner and sneak out before the high jinx. The fact that cultural institutions in Finland are 70% skirted, means that all kinds of disasters could befall the trousered. You can't be me, I'm taken
'tis strange I should be old and neither wise nor valiant. From "The Maid's Tragedy" by Beaumont & Fletcher
