Recently I posted some news about Ramadan and how violence escalated in East Jerusalem, political stalemate after March election, and how European politicians take a knee out of respect for Israel, the occupier. There are a number of rightwing bullies in leadership positions and they get away with a lot.

Canada, Quartet slam Jerusalem violence, int'l pressure grows on Israel | JPost |
"Such actions are a violation of international law and impede the achievement of a peaceful settlement."
Canada and the Middle East Quartet (the United Nations, United States, European Union and Russia) condemned on Sunday the violence that took place on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, and called on Israel to halt eviction plans for Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood as violence rises in the country's capital.
The EU and the US also issued a statement against the violence and the pending Sheikh Jarrah evictions, as did Jordan, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. Individual European countries, as well as South African, have spoken out as well.

UK and US Media Remain Silent
I checked the headlines and indeed, major networks do not cover Israel, Jerusalem and the IDF violence at the Damascus Gate and the Al Aqsa mosque during the month of Ramadan. In the UK is some coverage in media - BBC News, Sky News and less so by The Guardian and The Independent. France24 has good coverage, the German DW News is silent as are all Dutch media outlets. In the US the major networks are quite selective with coverage by NBC and CBS. On the other hand, CNN, ABC and the Canadian CBC are silent.
I covered some developments of the Labour party. Well established the harsh accusations Corbyn got during his political career for standing with Palestinians for their basic rights. Keir Starmer is not a leader, but tries to accommodate party members except for those loyal to Corbyn in the past - see my diary:

Lacking courage in this man, easily proven by his 2014 presentation pictured here ...
Apologizing for Solidarity with the Palestinians Has Only Fed the Smears Against the Labour Left
The coordinated campaign by Israel to undermine any criticism domestic or foreign goes quite far.
Shin Betís Campaign Against Palestine
Several major international and Israeli human rights groups have recently issued reports calling Israel an apartheid state "from the river to the sea." This means that Israel has devised a system keeping all non-Jews, whether inside the Green Line or outside (West Bank), under a racist system maintaining them in a state of perpetual oppression. Labeling this unified system as apartheid is an important step toward defining Israel itself as a pariah state in violation of international law and subject to criminal prosecution by the International Criminal Court.
An important tool used by Israel to perpetuate this system is its intelligence apparatus. Both the Shin Bet and Mossad target all attempts by Palestinians inside or outside the Green Line to organize for their national, political rights as hostile to the interests of the state. As far back as 2007, in response to plans announced by Israeli Palestinian NGOs calling for the transformation of Israel into a secular democratic state with equal rights for all citizens.

PMO to Balad: We Will Thwart anti-Israel Activity Even if Legal | Haaretz - March 16, 2007 |
The Prime Minister's Office has sent a letter to the editor of the publication of the predominantly Arab party Balad saying it would combat the activity of any group or individual seeking to harm Israel's "Jewish or democratic character," even if that activity was carried out through legal means.

Saudi, UAE issue statements condemning Israel over East Jerusalem tensions
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday voiced their opposition to Israel's plans to evict our Palestinian families from East Jerusalem homes, a land dispute that has contributed to the latest conflagration of violence in in Jerusalem.
"Saudi Arabia rejects Israel's plans and measures to evict dozens of Palestinians from their homes in Jerusalem and impose Israeli sovereignty over them," the kingdom's Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
The UAE -- whose normalization of ties with Israel last year inaugurated the historic Abraham Accords -- "strongly condemned" the clashes and the potential evictions, in a statement by the UAE's Foreign Affairs Minister Khalifa al-Marar, and urged Israeli authorities to reduce tensions.
Marar stressed, "the need for Israeli authorities to assume their responsibilities -- in line with international law -- to provide necessary protection to Palestinian civilians' right to practice their religion, and to prevent practices that violate the sanctity of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque."
The Colonial powers and the Balfour Declaration has certainly struck home to haunt the region. The British double-cross of the Hashemite King comes to mind. President Biden signed a new military agreement with Jordan. Proxy war is fine elsewhere, but not at the doorstep of the Saudi Kingdom. The role of the UAE is more aggressive with Mohammed Dahlan as NSC adviser to the Sheikh of Abu Dhabi. Hopefully there is some concern for the abuse of Human Rights by all parties in the Middle East. For Europe and especially the French, the total destruction of Lebanon and Syria must be quite painful. The spoils out of the Ottoman Empire from allied "victory" of WWI has seen mostly 100 years of destruction.

Sunni Terror Against Shia Minority Kills 60 Schoolgirls
Afghanistan mourns 60 schoolgirls killed in deadliest attack in years | Arab News |
KABUL: Sixty girls were buried during a mass funeral on Sunday, after a gruesome bomb attack on a school in a poor neighborhood of Kabul a day earlier.
The carnage outside the Sayed ul-Shuhada school in the Shia-dominated suburb of Dasht-e Barchi began when a car bomb detonated as students were leaving classes to break their Ramadan fast.
Witnesses said that as people rushed to take the wounded children to hospital, another explosion and mortar fire tore through the scene, killing some of the rescuers.
"Books and body parts were everywhere ... cries, wailing," local resident Rahim Dad said.

Over 100 people were wounded in the attack, the deadliest assault in years, coming just a week after a bomb attack killed another 21 children in Logar province, south of Kabul.
Over a century of persecution: massive human rights violation against Hazaras in Afghanistan | OHCHR |
Noticeable by Asiatic appearance, cultural and linguistic differences with Afghans, Hazaras have been carrying marks of ethnic cleansing, land confiscation, slavery and persecution since 1891. A recent study by impartial agency has recorded elimination of about 60% of Hazara population which was occurred only in the dawn of 20th century. Practicing Shiite faith of Islam by majority of Hazaras has been an additional motivation for further suppression, coercion and slaughtering. At the below, some horrific incidents, particularly those occurred in recent years are enumerated.
