In Contempt of UN Charter, Escalatory Strikes by US

by Oui Mon Feb 5th, 2024 at 01:42:51 PM EST

For the first time in 36 years, the U.N. Security Council passed a resolution critical of Israel's Jewish settlements on Palestinian territory. The United States abstained.

If Israel is not capable to broaden the Middle East conflict, the White House of Joe Biden will step to the plate and take over where Israel left off.

Cut the crap of your defensive rhetoric, the Pentagon has inflicted the most suffering and deaths  in the region post 9/11 and continues to this day.

Refusing to put ally Israel towards a path for peace with its Arab neighbours, the US is willing the aggravate to explosive situation further as it seems as the empires last throes.

Ms Clinton used her "knowledge" of Serbia and Kosovo and challenged the world community in Syria by-passing international law. What a quagmire in the new Middle-East. The year 2005 was marked by renewed upheaval in Lebanon, the assassination of Rafic Hariri while under occupation and rule by Syria. The European Union and the US were in talks with Bashar al-Assad for government reforms. New economic agreements and transformation were agreed upon and Israel held secret meetings to settle the Golan Heights issue.

Rumsfeld rejects Iraq pullout deadline | Al Jazeera - 23 June 2005 |

US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has rejected a senator's assertion the Iraq war has become a quagmire, while warning Iraq's government not to delay political developments such as drafting a constitution.

During a tense Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Thursday, General John Abizaid, who as head of Central Command is the top US commander in the Middle East, declined to endorse Vice-President Dick Cheney's assessment that Iraq's uprising was in its "last throes".

Abizaid said the fighters' strength had not diminished and that more foreign combatants were coming into Iraq than six months ago.

"There's a lot of work to be done against the insurgency," the general said, adding: "I'm sure you'll forgive me from criticising the vice-president."

"This war has been consistently and grossly mismanaged," Senator Edward Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat, told Rumsfeld.

"And we are now in a seemingly intractable quagmire. Our troops are dying. And there really is no end in sight."

Kennedy added: "And the American people, I believe, deserve leadership worthy of the sacrifices that our fighting forces have made, and they deserve the real facts. And I regret to say that I don't believe that you have provided either."

Several congressmen are asking for a troop pullout timetable

Rumsfeld's response

"Well, that is quite a statement," Rumsfeld, flanked by top US commanders, responded.

"First let me say that there isn't a person at this table who agrees with you that we're in a quagmire and that there's no end in sight.

"The suggestion by you that people - me or others - are painting a rosy picture is false," Rumsfeld.

"The fact is from the beginning of this we have recognised that this is a tough business, that it is difficult, that it is dangerous, and that it is not predictable," the defence chief added.

Kennedy asked Rumsfeld: "Isn't it time for you to resign?"

Unfortunately, the Bush/Cheney administration stayed on until January 2009  ... and screwed Europe too with the Declaration of War on Russia at the NATO Bucharest Summit in 2008, aiming to divide the European Union into "Old" Europe and "New" Europe, the former totalitarian Soviet satellite states. By volunteering their armed forces in the war of empires in Afghanistan and Iraq, the East European countries would gain brownie points in a fast tract to EU membership and a role in NATO expansion to the border with Moscow.

'Overshadow Gaza crimes': World reacts to US attacks on Iraq and Syria | Al Jazeera - 5 Feb. 2024 |

Iran, Iraq and Syria have strongly condemned the US strikes, saying they will only escalate regional tensions.

The United States has conducted a wave of air strikes on Iran-aligned targets in Iraq and Syria in an escalation for an retaliatory attack on an US outpost on the Syrian-Jordanian border for earlier devastating air strikes for US air power that killed multiple fighters of resistance militia in Syria and Iraq.

Washington has warned of more strikes to purportedly deter the Iran-backed "axis of resistance" amid Israel's war on Gaza. In announcing the overnight attacks, US President Joe Biden said: "Our response began today. It will continue at times and places of our choosing."

European Union

"Everybody should try to avoid that the situation becomes explosive," said EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.

While Borrell did not address the US strikes directly, he repeated a warning that the Middle East "is a boiler that can explode". [May I suggest you or VDL talk to ally and morale booster Joe in the White House]

He pointed to the war in Gaza, violence along the Israel-Lebanon border, bombings in Iraq and Syria, and attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. "That's why we call everybody to try to avoid an escalation."

[You maybe sorry, but you and the EU Commission has done NOTHING to ease the volatile situation of Israeli aggression as soon as Netanyahu formed his ultra-right wing cabinet with Bezalel Smotrich and Ben Gvir .... You have the experience, we don't need to spell it  out for you, do we?]

United Kingdom

"The UK and US are steadfast allies. We wouldn't comment on their operations, but we support their right to respond to attacks," a British government spokesperson said in a statement.

CNN journalists angry at network's 'systemic' pro-Israel bias | The Cradle |

The US network's coverage of Israel's war on Gaza has sought to 'implicitly justify Israeli actions' some of its own journalists and staffers say

Western media and censorship of war atrocities perpetrated by a close NATO ally. The State of Palestine has no representation in Western corporate news media. IDF censors pre-publication of CNN articles about Palestine. Horror endures in the Apartheid State .... not a true democracy representing ALL its people.

There is one reason for the bias in plain sight: religious ideology. David Zaslav, the CEO of CNN's parent company, is a Zionist. He believes in the need for a Jewish state as a historical imperative and, on that basis, has justified Zionist massacres of Palestinian civilians.

Let's look at statements from Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Brothers/Discovery.

In the days after October 7, even as Israel was bombing Gaza, Zaslav issued a statement of support for Israel, saying it had experienced "one of the deadliest [days] in Jewish history since the Holocaust." Zaslav was reported to be considering taking part in a $50 million publicity campaign to "define Hamas to the American people as a terrorist organization."

Missile attack targets US occupation base in Syria's Al-Omar oil field | 19 Feb 2023 |

A missile attack targeted on Saturday the US occupation base in Al-Omar oil field in the Deir Ezzor countryside, local sources told the Syrian news agency SANA.

"A missile attack targeted on Saturday Al-Omar oil field, which the US occupation forces take as an illegal base for them in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, no information whether there were any casualties among the occupation forces,' the sources told SANA.

Al Mayadeen correspondent in Syria said the missile attack targeted the US forces' helipad. In late December, Syrian media reported that the base was shelled with several missiles.

Al-Omar oil field is the largest Syrian oil field. The US is currently occupying the oil field, and has repeatedly looted Syrian oil to the tune of billions of dollars.

The US army and other foreign forces participating in the so-called "international coalition" occupy at least 28 declared military sites in Syria, distributed over three provinces, namely Al-Hasakah (17 sites), Deir Ezzor (9 sites), and Homs (2 sites).

U.S. Escalates War - Strikes Group Which Had Followed Orders To Stand Down

Yesterday a U.S. 'retaliation' strike on leaders of an Iraqi militia under the command of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior killed two top officers of Kataib Hezbullah.

The Shia militia groups were united in the PMF forces (Popular Mobilization Forces) to combat ISIS brought forth by the criminal invasion, occupation of U.S. Armed Forces in March 2003. These groups were a major force on the ground the fight the terrorists fostered by the Bush-Cheney administration 2001-2009.

Kata'ib Hezbollah | CISAC - Stanford |

Kata'ib Hezbollah (KH), also known as the Hezbollah Brigades ('Battalions of the Party of God'), is a Shiite Iraqi insurgent group that was founded in 2007.

In Iraq, KH joined the newly established Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, Hashd al-Shaabi in Arabic) in 2014. KH founder Muhandis (1) became the de facto head of PMF, propelling KH to a central role in the umbrella group. To expand their influence in Iraq, KH and other PMF leaders established small, local brigades exclusively dedicated to fighting in Iraq, such as KH sub-group Saraya al-Difa al-Shabi (KH-SDS).

In 2014 and 2015, KH and many PMF brigades combined forces to counter the IS advance into the Anbar Province and northern Iraq. In June 2014, KH and AAH first recaptured Samarra, Iraq and the surrounding area, an important holy site in Shia Islam. In August 2014, KH, AAH, and other PMF militias successfully broke the IS siege of Amerli with the aid of U.S. airpower and Kurdish Peshmerga forces. In March 2015, KH played a critical role to retake Tikrit, in one of Iraq's largest offensives against IS up to that date. An estimated 30,000 fighters from KH, PMF, and Iraqi security forces operated in conjunction with Iraqi air support to recapture Tikrit, which is a city north of Samarra drawing closer to Mosul.

After taking Fallujah ...

In late 2016 and early 2017, KH also played a significant role in Iraq's operation to retake Mosul, in what would become the largest military operation in Iraq since the US-led 2003 invasion. To bolster its forces, KH reportedly redirected 2,000 of its fighters from Syria to the Mosul campaign. The offensive began in mid-October 2016. Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga forces converged on the eastern part of the city with support from Iraqi and U.S. airstrikes. KH and PMF forces concentrated on Mosul's western axis to block IS fighters from escaping to Syria. These forces began their offensive with Tal Afar, a smaller city west of Mosul mostly populated by Sunni Muslims and ethnic Turkmen. On November 20, 2016, KH and the Badr Organization led PMF militants to completely encircle Tal Alfar with assistance from Kurdish Peshmerga forces.

By the end of 2016, PMF had taken back dozens of IS-held villages surrounding Tal Afar, and KH claimed it was advancing west to clear the Syrian border region of IS weapons caches. In January 2017, Iraqi and Kurdish Peshmerga forces completely recaptured eastern Mosul and began to redirect their efforts to the western axis alongside PMF and KH. In joint operations backed by U.S. air support, Iraqi forces fully recaptured Mosul by the end of July 2017 and Tal Afar by the end of August 2017.

KH founder Muhandis (*) together with Iranian hero Qassem Soleimani were assassinated on 3 January 2020 in a coordinated air strike by United States, UK and Israeli intelligence.
