Biden Panders to Xians and Jews for Re-Election

by Oui Sat May 11th, 2024 at 12:49:56 PM EST

Looking "clear-eyed" into a mirror, American pro-Israel warmongers see fascists at work.

Horrendous, beyond pale remarks by president Biden

Biden's speech on Holocaust memorial day was an extended attack on the progressives. He said campus protests represent the latest "surge" of the "ancient hatred of Jews," the same hatred that fueled Nazism. [nonsense - false and oversimplification Joe]

The smear got sympathetic coverage on broadcast media. "This is ultimately a continuation of why he ran in 2020, when he saw neo-Nazis marching in Charlottesville chanting -- quote -- `Jews will not replace us,'" Laura Barron-Lopez said on the PBS News Hour. CNN reporter Jamie Gangel echoed the Charlottesville claim. While CNN anchor Dana Bash said that the protests "hearken back" to Nazi Germany.

Biden's attack on the demonstrators carries great political risk. The Democratic base is overwhelmingly critical of Israel. By 56 to 22 Democrats say that Israel is committing a "genocide" in Gaza, according to a new poll.

Days long protest VU Amsterdam and Utrecht

Riot police beat up on pro-Palestine protesters in a large gathering near university grounds. Copy-cat harsh intervention by well trained riot police, usually needed every weekend for football hooligans.

The provocative visit in March by Israeli president Yitzhak Herzog fueled the protests against genocide in Gaza and d war crimes by Israel in general ...fascists and terrorist in the war cabinet of long-time PM Bibi Netanyahu who himself will be required to answer before the ICJ and ICC in The Hague for eleven genocidal acts.

A biased political view from the Dutch

With Islamophobe Geert Wilders historic electoral win in November, a right-wing majority are in talks for a new coalition where Rutte's VVD, now with new xenophobic leader Yesilgöz participating. Getting along well as many seats lost by the VVD went over to Wilders' PVV ... same electorate.

Caretaker PM Rutte looks to Germany to solve pro-Palestine protest

The events at and around the UvA in the last few days clearly cross the red line. Demonstrations are allowed. Always. But using violence against the police and causing destruction is never allowed. Stop that!

More and more often and with increasingly harsh words, the violence in Gaza is being blamed on Jewish Dutch people. Unjustly! It is a form of anti-Semitism that we must continue to fight loud and clear. Don't be silent, don't look away. I will discuss this further on Monday in the Catshuis with numerous social organizations. Anti-Semitism should have no place in the Netherlands.

UvA employees call for a 'walk-out': "Shocked by the actions of the board"

May 9, 2024, 11:51 am · By AT5

An unknown number of UvA employees say they are shocked by the actions of the university's Executive Board. They announce a meeting on the Roeterseiland campus on Monday, May 13 at 11 a.m. "The board has shown bad faith in the negotiations."

Thousands of demonstrators at Palestine demonstration: "Let the voices of innocent people be heard"

After UvA demonstrations and the occupation of the Binnengasthuis grounds, there was a new demonstration today. Thousands of demonstrators gathered on Dam Square to commemorate the Nakba

The Nakba is commemorated every year on May 15, but today there are already demonstrations on Dam Square. The demonstration is organized by various action groups and was announced a month ago.

The demonstrators were also present to draw attention to the current situation in the Gaza Strip. "Our politicians do nothing about it and the international community does nothing about it, so that is why I am standing here today together with all the other activists."

The Nakba ('the catastrophe') is the period between 1947 and 1949 in which the state of Israel was established. During this period, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled or were driven out by the violence of the Arab-Israeli War.

One of the most fascinating documents about the origin of the Palestinian refugee problem was written by an officer in Shai, the precursor to the Shin Bet security service. It discusses why the country was emptied of so many of its Arab inhabitants, dwelling on the circumstances of each village. Compiled in late June 1948, it was titled "The Emigration of the Arabs of Palestine." Read a translation of the document here

Today's demonstration was peaceful until 5:30 PM, but that was different last week. Hundreds of students and activists occupied Roeterseiland on Monday and the Binnengasthuis grounds a few days later. After the UvA filed a report, the riot police cleared the site. "I was shocked by this," said one of the activists. "I studied at the UvA myself and am extremely proud of the students who are taking action, for all of us."
