Dutch Prepare for Large Scale War

by Oui Sun May 5th, 2024 at 05:04:02 PM EST

Drip, drip, drip ... for months, years in Dutch politics united with corporate media.

Mark Rutte putting on the finishing touches of lies, indoctrination and straightforward disinformation. Love of Anglo-Saxon business, capitalism, Boris Johnson and even considered Donald Trump a friend and best man to run the White House. Europe should follow the American model of right-wing politics, suppress dissent and build our defenses ahead of an aggressive Russia and China.

From radio broadcaster BNR Radio - Business radio a mix of CNBC sort of and Fox News ... right-wing interviews, not lacking candidates in the Land of Wilders ... like extreme biased De Telegraaf, largest circulation newspaper ... close to fascism and the (far) right-wing of the VVD Party of Mark Rutte - new leader Dilan Yesilgöz.

Former advisors at the Clingendael Institute, a mix of AEI and the Hoover Institution. Leading warmongers Arend-Jan Boekestijn and Rob de Wijk have a joint podcast on BNR Radio with comments how the Ukraine proxy war is advancing towards Moscow to remove Vlad Putin from power. Doing an interview with at the time, new politician for the Green Party D66 and Foreign Minister in Rutte III, Sigrid Kaag. She would not sit out Rutte III die to poor management retreat from Kabul in August 2021. She returned in full glory as Finance Minister [??] in Rutte Iv that too did not survive the term. She once again dropped out ahead of time for her new job @UN for Humanitarian Aid into Gaza. Approved for the job by the White House and Jerusalem.

'Dutch Defense is preparing for the large-scale conflict'

BNR Author: Lisa van der Velde

With the defense investment of more than 21 billion euros this year, the Netherlands is coming close to the NATO standard for the first time. After years of peace missions, the armed forces of Western countries must now prepare for a completely different kind of conflict, with Russia as the main enemy. That is the opinion of Brigadier General and Professor of Military-Operational Sciences Han Bouwmeester.

Russia is currently seen as the major threat to the West. Although the Russians are not the only danger, Bouwmeester emphasizes. 'Consider, for example, China or smaller groups, also known as non-state actors. They could come from the Middle East, for example.'

Bouwmeester sees that Defense is currently preparing in a NATO context for the large-scale conflict as we know it from the past. That means: being able to actually wage physical war. The Netherlands is preparing for this in a NATO context. The West has had a long period of peacekeeping operations. A war with Russia would be a different kind of conflict, says Bouwmeester. The armed forces of Western countries must therefore prepare differently for this.

Of course, going to war today no longer looks the same as it used to, Bouwmeester admits. There has been enormous development in the field of weapons, such as the drone. Progress has also been made in the field of IT.

The Defense Staff has indicated which equipment is most needed, according to Bouwmeester. First of all, Defense is focusing on long-range missiles. This allows a battle to be waged in depth, he explains. This also requires investigative resources. Investments must also be made in this. Furthermore, there must be sufficient equipment to fight at the front. 'There is currently a lack of strength there.' This applies to the air, army and navy.

Of course, there is also a shortage of personnel. 'After the Cold War and after the suspension of conscription, Defense mainly invested in productivity, says Professor of Defense Economics Robert Beeres. And therefore not in people. Better pay and possibly the reintroduction of conscription are needed to attract personnel, says Beeres.

A top of his class military warmonger for the MIC Eisenhower warned the world about. We're right in the middle of a path toward a global military conflict ... the West against the rest. Like kayaking, racing down river rapids of a jungle in New Guinea, knowing there is an unexplored part with a deadly waterfall ...

Guerre en Ukraine : un Français parti combattre en Ukraine témoigne | March 2022 |

Some French people have decided to go and fight alongside the Ukrainian soldiers. Le 20 Heures met one of them in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

His gaze sweeps the streets of kyiv (Ukraine), and his hand is never far from his precision rifle. Ernesto, sniper in the Foreign Legion, is not Ukrainian but French. He's here for one of his brothers in arms. "On the second day of the Russian invasion, I had one of my Ukrainian comrades who was with me in France in the Foreign Legion. His family was killed by the Russians," explains Ernesto, who therefore decided to come and fight the Russian invasion. Russian army in Ukraine.

Military since he was 17

A soldier at 17 in the Alpine hunters, then a legionnaire engaged in Afghanistan and Mali, Ernesto has also already participated in five missions against the Russians. In one of these missions, he lost four of his "brothers", as he calls them, following a missile strike. Dying for Ukraine therefore makes sense for this soldier. He's not here for the money: in the south of France, he founded his luxury concierge business two years ago, after the army. But he assures that he will stay in Ukraine as long as necessary.

My calling card ... killing people.

We drastically need to buy mines for out extended field of battle ... reporting from Vovchansk

The Russians simply walked in, Ukrainian troops in Kharkiv tell BBC

Denys wants to know what happened to Ukraine's defences.

"There was no first line of defence. We saw it. The Russians just walked in. They just walked in, without any mined fields" he says.

He shows me video from a drone feed taken a few days ago of small columns of Russian troops simply walking across the border, unopposed.

He says officials had claimed that defences were being built at huge cost, but in his view, those defences simply weren't there. "Either it was an act of negligence, or corruption. It wasn't a failure. It was a betrayal".

Everyone knew that this incursion was likely to happen. Both Ukrainian and Western intelligence knew Russia had been building forces across the border - with estimates of it massing up to 30,000 troops.

President Vladimir Putin had also publicly stated his goal to create a buffer zone inside Kharkiv region to protect Russian territory from Ukrainian artillery strikes.

But Ukraine appears to have been ill-prepared - despite official denials.

Denys, speaking from a park in Kharkiv, says within an hour he'll be back on the front line with his men close to the town of Vovchansk, just 5km (3 miles) from the Russian border.
