Netanyahu Decides to Lash-out in Rafah

“Sustained Quiet” has replaced the term “ceasefire” in American proposal.

To hold on to power, Bibi Netanyahu needs to undermine any agreement …

Netanyahu Defies US President Biden

Israeli tanks move into Rafah despite Hamas ceasefire proposal approval | Al-Ahram |

Tanks enters Rafah and shuts down the Southern border after a night of heavy bombardment. The pariah state continues bombing residential areas where war refugees have sought refugee to no avail.

Biden shows he is ineffective after 40 years of friendship with Zionist family of Netanyahu. No valor, no courage, taken down in history as genocide proceeds.

Past couple of weeks has seen student revolts across the U.S. and the globe. Pressure from opinion polls and the re-election prospect in November turned Biden’s

French, British and German’s will urge agreement for laying down arms.

U.S. State Department watched Al Jazeera to learn acceptance of deal by Hamas leadership ✌🏽

William Burns on sustained shuttle diplomacy to get a deal done … recent days forceful rhetoric by Netanyahu were his last throes as any agreement means end of his game covering decades. Thus in last hour a targeting bombing raid and perhaps ground incursion is taking g place in eastern Rafah. This angers Biden and spokespersons John Kirby and Matt Miller.

Strategic goals have not been reached in Gaza by massacre and ethnic cleansing … Hamas still exists. Israel is more isolated than ever since its founding and less secure by its own policy of fencing off Gaza, apartheid regime in West Bank and breaching the security wall with illegal settlements and 700,000 settlers, a majority from safe foreign states.

is the same as Hamas' "extra-ordinarily generous" 2-month-old cease fire proposal?

strana | "The ball is now on Israel's side." Hamas agrees to a truce in the Gaza Strip
Hamas has informed the Qatari and Egyptian mediators of its agreement to their proposal for a truce in Gaza.
What I think that means is, "OK. We agree, nothing will stop Israel's genocide of Palestinians"— "with or without a deal".

Biden has pushes deal down throat of Netanyahu as US interests have been badly damaged these past months.

Credibility has been wiped out. It was the choice of Netanyahu himself to form the cabinet with extremist right-wing.

Past days we witnessed the last throes of Netanyahu  doing all to hold on to power in Israel.

Biden saw the swing states moving into Republican majority and the university protests did matter.

The force in the region were the Arab States Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. They refused to cede Palestinian  territory to Zionist biblical claims.

Al Jazeera's story has run amok.

tabloid USAToday | Hamas says it accepts cease-fire proposal; Israel approves Rafah invasion, 6 May

State Department spokesman Matt Miller said the Biden administration was reviewing the Hamas announcement and "will be discussing this response with our partners over the coming hours."
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir described the Hamas announcement as a "trick."...
which reveals, yet again, that unwarranted Israeli homicidal mania is the obstacle to "lasting peace" even as IDF bombs, today, Palestinians fleeing Rafah.

Ben-Gvir knows full well that Israel's war cabinet rejected this "Egypt-Qatar" proposal in February, when the General Framework for a Comprehensive Agreement was branded Hamas' "delusional demands."

Media is perfectly split in accordance with geographical location 😄

Western media follow narrative of U.S. Congress and  the White  House and the censored message coming out of Jerusalem.

The Israeli population has been kept in the dark about the destruction in Gaza and the human toll. Banning Al Jazeera has come decades too late for Bibi. Bush dropped a bomb on Al Jazeera HQ in Kabul and Baghdad. 😎

Peddle diplomacy by William Burns on orders from Joe Biden himself made the difference. Israel delegation refused to travel to Cairo on Sunday ... I can imagine Biden put his stamp of approval on the proposal of today. Middle finger to Netanyahu and his right-wing cabal ... Joe just blew-up the war cabinet and ends Netanyahu's reign.

The Arab supported final deal was on the table in Cairo today.

Tough choices for Netanyahu after Hamas upends expectations | BBC News |

The Hamas ceasefire announcement surprised most observers and upended Israel's expectations of what might happen in the next few weeks.

Israel's working assumption was that Hamas would not accept a ceasefire proposal that the Americans called "exceptionally generous". At first light, Israel warned Palestinians to flee the eastern side of Rafah, because of an imminent military operation.

The Americans oppose any ground operations in Rafah that could threaten civilian lives. The Israeli defence minister, Yoav Gallant, explained to his American counterpart that there was no alternative - as Hamas had rejected every proposal for a temporary ceasefire and a release of hostages.

Mediators from the US, Egypt and Qatar continued to push for a ceasefire. The head of the CIA, William Burns, spent much of the day in meetings with the prime minister of Qatar in Doha, the capital city that is also the base for the political leadership of Hamas.

By the evening, as Hamas announced it would accept a ceasefire, Palestinian sources hinted it might be ready for a long-term truce.

Romney Admits Push to Ban TikTok Is Aimed at Censoring News Out of Gaza | Common Dreams |

A conversation between Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Republican senator offered an "incredible historical document" showing how the U.S. views its role in the Middle East.

state.gov | Secretary Antony J. Blinken At McCain Institute's 2024 Sedona Forum Keynote Conversation with Senator Mitt Romney (03.05.24)
ROMNEY:...First, I'm going to say up top, with regards to the trip to the Middle East, give us the lowdown, give us the rundown. What is happening there?  What's happening among the Israeli people?  What are—what is Bibi Netanyahu thinking? What's happening with Hamas? What kind of a deal has been put on the table?  What's—what is—the people and the leadership in Qatar—see, I can get all my questions out. (Laughter.) I mean, give us a full lay of the land, and then we can sort of probe areas of interest.
BLINKEN: Mitt, thank you. And before trying to tackle that multi-part question—(laughter)—actually, it sounds like—
ROMNEY: It's—it's just the lay of the land.
"dinner with Cindy"
ROMNEY: Why has the PR been so awful? I know that's not your area of expertise, but you have to have some thoughts on that, which is, I mean, as you've said, why has Hamas disappeared in terms of public perception? An offer is on the table to have a ceasefire, and yet the world is screaming about Israel.  It's like, why are they not screaming about Hamas?  Accept the ceasefire and bring home the hostages.  Instead, it's all the other way around. I mean, typically the Israelis are good at PR. What's happened here? How have they—how have they—and we—been so ineffective at communicating the realities there and our point of view?
BLINKEN: Look, I mean, there are two things.  One is that, look, there is an inescapable reality, and that is the inescapable reality of people who have and continue to suffer grievously in Gaza. And that's real and we have to—have to—be focused on that and attentive to that.

5 May: CNN | 'Full-blown famine' happening in Gaza, WFP warns, amid fresh push for truce
6 May: USNews | The UN Says There's 'Full-Blown Famine' in Northern Gaza. What Does That Mean?
At the same time, how this narrative has evolved, yeah, it's a great question. I don't have a good answer to that. One can speculate about what some of the causes might be. I don't know. I can tell you this—and we were talking about this a little bit over dinner with Cindy. I think in my time in Washington, which is a little bit over 30 years, the single biggest change has been in the information environment. And when I started out in the early 1990s, everyone did the same thing. You woke up in the morning, you opened the door of your apartment or your house, you picked up a hard copy of The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal. And then if you had a television in your office, you turned it on at 6:30 or 7 o'clock and watched the national network news.

Now, of course, we are on an intravenous feed of information with new impulses, inputs every millisecond.  And of course, the way this has played out on social media has dominated the narrative. And you have a social media ecosystem environment in which context, history, facts get lost, and the emotion, the impact of images dominates. And we can't—we can't discount that, but I think it also has a very, very, very challenging effect on the narrative.
