Meeting with global Arab and Muslim leaders … at the head of the table Erdogan with Trump

Trump promises Arab, Muslim leaders he won’t let Israel annex the West Bank | Politico |

The president’s pledge came in a closed-door meeting at the UN.

Another one of the people familiar with the talks noted that, despite Trump’s assurance, a ceasefire to end Israel’s nearly two-year war against Hamas was nowhere close to fruition. Two others familiar with the matter said Trump and his team presented a white paper outlining the administration’s plan to end the war, including the annexation promise and other details such as governance and postwar security.

Special envoy for peace missions Steve Witkoff provided some details on the proposal on Wednesday. “We presented what we call the Trump 21-point-plan for peace in the Mideast in Gaza,” he said at the Concordia summit in New York. “I think it addresses Israeli concerns and as well, the concerns of all the neighbors in the in the region.” Witkoff did not mention any comments about the West Bank.

Trump told reporters ahead of his sit-down with eight Arab and Muslim countries at the United Nations headquarters that it was his “most important” of the day, but he left without speaking to reporters and the participants have yet to issue any official readout about the substance of their conversation.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the meeting as “fruitful” Tuesday evening during an interview on Fox News Channel, but he did not elaborate. Erdogan and Trump are scheduled to meet again at the White House on Thursday.

United States President Donald Trump has hosted his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the White House for the first time since 2019.

In a brief Oval Office news conference on Thursday, the two leaders gave reporters a preview of the issues they would discuss behind closed doors, including the sale of military equipment, trade and global conflicts.

“ He’s a highly respected man. He’s respected very much in his country and all throughout Europe and throughout the world where they know him,” Trump said, gesturing to Erdogan. “It’s an honour to have him.”

While Trump has maintained friendly relations with Erdogan during his second term, the ties between their two countries have faced strain in recent years, particularly as a result of Turkiye’s continued trade with Russia.

Still, both leaders sought to cast their relationship in a positive light at Thursday’s meeting, which was followed by a joint lunch.

“We’ve had a very good relationship for a long time,” Trump said, adding, “ This is a tough man. This is a guy who’s highly opinionated. Usually, I don’t like opinionated people, but I always like this one.”

Statement issued by the State of Palestine on efforts to end the war in Gaza | WAFA Agency |

RAMALLAH, September 30, 2025, (WAFA) - The State of Palestine welcomes the sincere and determined efforts of President Donald J. Trump to end the war on Gaza and affirms its confidence in his ability to find a path toward peace. It also underscores the importance of the partnership with the United States in achieving peace in the region.

It renews its joint commitment to work with the United States, regional states, and partners to end the war on Gaza through a comprehensive agreement that ensures the sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the release of hostages and prisoners, the establishment of mechanisms to protect the Palestinian people, guarantee respect for the ceasefire and security for both sides, prevent annexation of land, stop the displacement of Palestinians, end unilateral actions that violate international law, release withheld Palestinian tax revenues, and lead to a full Israeli withdrawal.

This would also ensure the unification of Palestinian land and institutions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, end the occupation, and open the path toward a just peace based on the two-state solution, with the independent and sovereign State of Palestine living side by side with the State of Israel in security, peace, and good neighborliness, in accordance with international legitimacy.

Interesting comments added …

Jeff Siddiqui says:

The US can squeeze out an “agreement” from any of the developing and M-E countries by sheer brute displays. Qatar is held hostage because it “hosts” the largest US base in the M-E; one nod from a US President and there will be no Qatar government anymore. Almost every dictatorship and tyranny in the world is there because of US support…except for Israel which runs the US like a puppet.

Palestinians are going to leave or die because by the time any Western bloc gets its righteousness to wake up, the only thing that they can do is to build yet another “Never Again!” monument. Except this time, there will not be any Nuremberg trials, and nobody will be hanged for war crimes or genocide.

Americans? We will gripe and gripe and gripe but when November comes around, we will “hold our noses” and still vote for our parties. Politicians know that so they do not have to listen to us, they only have to remain servile to their paymasters.

Marilyn Shepherd says:

It is ever-timely, to remember the stern reminders from the US Department of State – to the US Truman Presidential Administration (between 1946 and 1948):

“The proposals contained in the UNSCOP plan are not only not based on any principles of an international character, the maintenance of which would be in the interests of the United States, but they are in definite contravention to various principles laid down in the [U.N.] Charter as well as to principles on which American concepts of Government are based.

We are under no obligations to the Jews to set up a Jewish state. The Balfour Declaration and the Mandate provided not for a Jewish state, but for a Jewish national home. Neither the United States nor the British Government has ever interpreted the term ‘Jewish national home’ to be a Jewish national state.”

    Obama’s Speech on Foreign Policy in 2008 | by Oui @BooMan - Oct 21, 2012 |

As reported in a fascinating historical snippet by the late Richard Holbrooke, who helped organize presidential adviser Clark Clifford’s papers for a co-authored memoir, then-President Harry Truman overruled George Marshall, the secretary of state he “revered” along with “James V. Forrestal, George F. Kennan, Robert Lovett, John J. McCloy, Paul Nitze and Dean Acheson” and did recognize Israel.

Washington's Battle Over Israel's Birth By Richard Holbrooke

Truman announced recognition at 6:11 p.m. on May 14 -- 11 minutes after Ben-Gurion's declaration of independence in Tel Aviv. So rapidly was this done that in the official announcement, the typed words "Jewish State" are crossed out, replaced in Clifford's handwriting with "State of Israel."

Joint Statement by Arab League and OIC Leaders at Multilateral Summit with US President

During the meeting, the leaders of Arab/OIC states thanked President Trump for calling for this important meeting. They highlighted the unbearable situation in the Gaza Strip, including the humanitarian catastrophe and high human toll, as well as its serious consequences for the region and impact on the Muslim world as a whole.

[…]

They emphasized the need to work out details of a plan for stabilization, while ensuring stability in the West Bank and Jerusalem’s Holy Sites. They supported Palestinian Authority reform efforts.

Participants affirmed the need to ensure a comprehensive plan for reconstruction in Gaza, based on the Arab and OIC plan, as well as security arrangements, with international assistance supporting the Palestinian leadership, and expressed commitment to work together to ensure the success of plans and to rebuild the lives of Palestinians in Gaza.

They also emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum to ensure that this meeting is the beginning of a process on the right path to a future of peace and regional cooperation.

Important note: OIC states … however the Shia are once again missing … Bahrain (governate KSA) – Iraq – Iran and no mention of Syria nor Lebanon left in chaos/terror after the Neocon wars at the behest of Israel.

How the UK–Türkiye defence partnership is reshaping European security | TRT World |

As regional security concerns grow and global alliances evolve, Türkiye and the UK are forging closer military ties to offer an alternative path to the European security framework.

Since the 2000s, the United Kingdom has taken significant steps to strengthen its relationship with Türkiye, recognising it as an important economic partner.

In this context, the UK began to pursue defence collaboration with Türkiye, signalling a strategic shift in its foreign policy.

In the immediate aftermath of the July 15, 2016, coup attempt orchestrated by the FETO terrorist organisation, the United Kingdom distinguished itself from other European countries by demonstrating solidarity with Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The UK characterised the coup as “an attack on Turkish democracy”.

Shortly after, former Prime Minister and then-UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson travelled to Türkiye in September, further cementing the UK's alliance with the country.

The following year, in January 2017, former Prime Minister Theresa May made an official visit to Türkiye, holding high-level diplomatic talks aimed at advancing and deepening bilateral relations in defence, trade and security.

Turks welcome ’Ottoman grandson' Boris Johnson as British leader

"Ottoman grandson becomes prime minister," read a front-page headline of the opposition newspaper Sozcu. "For England, a prime minister with roots in Cankiri," it said, referring to Kemal's home province in central Turkey.

Like Johnson, his great-grandfather was a journalist who went into government, a move that proved ill-fated. In the final days of the Ottoman Empire, Kemal was captured and lynched by nationalists fighting to establish the Turkish state.

Erdogan congratulated Johnson on Twitter, adding that ties between Turkey and the United Kingdom were set to improve. Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also congratulated him, sharing a video of Turkish reporters asking Johnson about his roots in Cankiri during a 2016 visit to Ankara.

Demiroren News Agency quoted a resident of Cankiri's Kalfat village as saying it was an honour that someone from their village had become prime minister, adding that Johnson owed his distinctive mop of blond hair to his Turkish forefathers.

"They call his ancestors from this house 'Blond Boys'. Boris Johnson's blondness comes from this lineage," Mustafa Bal said.
