UK Minister won't speculate role of British intelligence on attack Russian airfields

Steve Reed MP reiterated the UK's support for Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Russian investigators accused Ukraine of bombing two bridges over the weekend in regions near the border, calling them 'acts of terror.' According to officials, seven people were killed and 113 were injured, including children. Investigators stated the attack was 'deliberately planned to harm hundreds of civilians.' One bridge collapsed onto railway tracks in Bryansk region, where a train collided with the debris. Another bridge collapse occurred in Kursk region, where no casualties were reported. Merz On Sixth Day of June and Zelenskyy
.

Merz on 6th of June and D-Day ... Trump's response: "It wasn't a great day for your country." His suggestion on Nazi dictatorship and Russian war in Ukraine, fell flat.

Has the orange man got Alzheimer's now?

As Trump is not "trusted" with intelligence, or perhaps hates time spend on listening to his advisors ... Trump is not up to date on all that is happening on the battlefield ... a filter as you like. That would make more sense to me ... Trump picks up bits of information and sometimes he is updated by questions from the media he thrives on. Too much and way too many topics on his plate. An attack on nuclear assets would be for understood as critical mass for any world leader. That fact changed his mindset and likely considers Zelenskyy a global risk ... "You gamble with World War III!" Zelenskyy was warned. "You could lose all of Ukraine."

The Europeans are trying to push the U.S. into a trap of fighting the war against Russia ... a no-go for Trump, dialing back the US Congress on new sanctions on Russia.

The Ides of June if you will. 😊

British war narrative as it stands accused of key support drone strikes on Russia last week

Sky News reporter Dominic Waghorn agrees Trump will likely abandon peace talks, with Western diplomats he's spoken to fearing the same. And, in that, Putin sees an opportunity.

"If Trump takes away US intelligence, then Ukraine is in deep trouble," he says, adding it's hard for Europe to fill that particular vacuum.

Challenges In Compensation for Relatives of Killed In Action Foreign Soldiers

Ukrainian law provides for a lump sum payment in case of death, disability, or partial loss of capacity without establishing disability for military personnel, regardless of their citizenship. This right is guaranteed both for Ukrainians and for foreigners serving in the AFU, National Guard, or the State Special Transport Service who might have been killed in the line of duty.

The Deep State Is Still Sabotaging Presidential Policies | MofA |

Ambassador M.K. Bhadrakumar reminds us of subtle maneuvers by deep state actors to sabotage presidential policies.

When a U.S. spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union President Dwight Eisenhower had not be informed about its real mission. The CIA claimed that it had been a weather plane that went off course after its pilot was incapacitated. The president repeated that tale.

The Soviets then published that the wreckage of the U-2 spy plane had been recovered and the pilot captured alive. The Soviets were miffed of being lied to and Eisenhower's attempt of detente with them failed.

Bhadrakumar sees a parallel in the recent Ukrainian drone attacks on strategic bomber on several Russian air field.

President Trump, in a call with the Russian president Putin, claimed that the U.S. had had no knowledge of the attack. That is, as several former CIA members confirm, implausible. The operation had been the making for 18 month which means that it had been initiated under President Biden. U.S. and/or British intelligence was certainly involved in designating the targets.

It seem that Trump, like Eisenhower before him, was not informed and thus embarrassed himself.

While Trump was talking with Putin Russian officials warned that deep state forces within the U.S. have not changed their anti-Russian aims.

Insightful Indian diplomat M. K. Bhadrakumar

Ukraine Russia War/Quick Round Up of the Week | Daniel Davies - Deep Dive |

President Trump criticized the Ukrainian strikes, suggesting they provoked Russia's harsh response and reiterated that such a war would not have happened under his leadership. He expressed concern over escalating casualties but stopped short of suggesting a nuclear threat was imminent.

Commentators like Danny and Colonel Douglas Macgregor argue that while Ukraine's strikes were visually impressive, they didn't shift the front-line dynamics. Russia continues to advance in key regions like Kupiansk and Sumy. Danny warned that media victories don't translate to real battlefield progress.

Colonel Macgregor took a historical lens, comparing the current conflict to the horrors of World War II, and condemned ongoing Western support for Ukraine as futile and inhumane. He urged Trump to clearly state that the U.S. and Russia should not be at war.

Hegseth faces sharp questions from Congress on deploying troops to LA and Pentagon spending | AP News |

The hearing before the House Appropriations defense subcommittee was the first time lawmakers have been able to challenge Trump's defense chief since he was confirmed. It is the first of three congressional hearings he will face this week.

Pentagon learns from Ukraine but will cut funding

Committee members pressed Hegseth on Ukraine's surprise drone attack in early June that destroyed a large number of Russian bomber aircraft. And they questioned the administration's future funding for Kyiv.

Hegseth said the strikes caught the U.S. off guard and represented significant advances in drone warfare. The attack has the Pentagon rethinking drone defenses "so we are not vulnerable to a threat and an attack like that," he said, adding that the department is learning from Ukraine and is focused on how to better defend its own military airfields.

He acknowledged, however, that funding for Ukraine military assistance, which has been robust for the past two years, will be reduced in the upcoming defense budget. That cut means that Kyiv will receive fewer of the weapons systems that have been key to countering Russia's onslaught.

"This administration takes a very different view of that conflict," he said. "We believe that a negotiated peaceful settlement is in the best interest of both parties and our nation's interests."

The U.S. to date has provided Ukraine more than $66 billion since Russia invaded in February 2022.
