This guy looks at politics from all sides - he is an equal-opportunity basher, and no one is exempt, not even the Dems. He provides an honest look at `America' and her voters, or non-voters, as the case may be.
Mr. Taibbi's quickly become one of my favorite writers. He is, as I mentioned, unflinchingly honest, no holds barred, and not very politically correct - but dammit, he is funny and talented and I enjoy his writings tremendously.
He writes for Alternet quite frequently, is a columnist for The New York Press, and is co-editor of the Moscow-based alternative newspaper 'eXile'. He's got excellent credentials, as far as I know, and to the best of my knowledge has never been granted a White House press pass and probably never will. 😉
I highly recommend Matt's writings to everyone. Check him out if you get a chance.

I've been reading the eXile since 1997, and it is an amazing paper. With co-author Mark Ames, they've had great streaks of genius.
If you can tolerate the misogyny they carry like a flag, and the frat boy humor at times, they have a sharp political eye and they write beautifully. They predicted the Russian crash in 1998 one month before it happened, and they have done some beautiful pranks as well.

Journalist Matt Taibbi, who was once a contributing editor at Rolling Stone, has put all the recently uncovered pieces of the puzzle together in a damning post on Racket News.
"Now, we know," he writes. "With the help of the declassified Durham material, we can explain the whole affair in three brushstrokes."
According to Taibbi, it began with a political calculation: "Hillary Clinton and her team apparently hoped to deflect from her email scandal and other problems via a campaign tying Trump to Putin." That much has been long suspected. But what came next is where the real scandal begins.
"American security services learned of these plans," Taibbi explains. And instead of exposing the scheme for what it was--a dirty campaign trick--"authorities used state resources to massively expand and amplify her scheme."
In other words, they didn't stop it. They ran with it. And they had help.
"The last stage required the enthusiastic cooperation and canine incuriosity of the entire commercial news business," he writes, "which cheered as conspirators made an enforcement target of Trump, actually an irrelevant bystander."
He continues:
I've tiptoed for years around what I believed to be true about this case, worrying some mitigating fact might emerge. Now, there's no doubt. Hillary Clinton got in a jam, and the FBI, CIA, and the Obama White House got her out of it by setting Trump up. That's it. It was a cover-up, plain and simple...
"Clinton's position was so unsteady by early 2016 that she made Bernie Sanders a real challenger for the Democratic nomination," Taibbi recalls. "She somehow lost 84% of the vote of women under 30 in Iowa."
To make matters worse, an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation had been conveniently shelved until after the election, and there were ongoing problems with donors and the unending PR mess that was Bill Clinton.
The classified appendix to the Durham report revealed that Russian intelligence had obtained a cache of emails and correspondence--hacked before January 2016--involving U.S. government agencies, nonprofits, and think tanks. Among the material were communications between DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Open Society Foundation (Soros) officials Jeffrey Goldstein and Leonard Benardo. According to a Russian analysis of those exchanges, there was internal concern that investigations into favoritism shown to Clinton Foundation donors by the State Department were creating serious political fallout for Hillary Clinton.

George Soros admits playing an integral part in the Ukraine crisis - CNN interview May 27, 2014
In 1990, about a year before Ukraine became independent of the Soviet Union, Open Society Foundations established the International Renaissance Foundation in Kyiv. According to the foundation, it's aimed at "developing an open society in Ukraine since 1990 where everybody has a sense of dignity, citizens are involved in the formation of the state, and the authorities are transparent and responsible."
But in 2014, when Zakaria interviewed Soros, anti-government protesters in Ukraine had recently toppled the government and run the Russian-backed president out of the country [correct definition a coup d'état led by the CIA]. The president had rejected a deal for greater integration with the European Union, leading to mass protests.
Russia then invaded and annexed Crimea and by April, pro-Russia separatist rebels had started seizing territory in eastern Ukraine.
In the interview, Soros went on to say that Russian President Vladimir Putin would try to "destabilize Ukraine" even though "the large majority of Ukrainians [Yanukovich was democratically elected] are determined to be independent of Russia."
