Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's prime minister, said on Sunday (September 21) there will be no Palestinian state, adding the act of recognition made by those leaders acts as a 'reward to terrorism' following the deadly attack of October 7, 2023. Netanyahu said that for years he has prevented a Palestinian state despite domestic and international pressure and added that he will give his response after he returns from the United States.
Britain, Canada and Australia all recognized a Palestinian state on Sunday in a move borne out of frustration over the Gaza war and intended to promote a two-state solution but which is also bound to anger Israel and its main ally, the United States.
