Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Paris Meet Up 2012 Photo Diary

by Wife of Bath Wed May 2nd, 2012 at 08:06:14 AM EST

As promised (and this will teach people to be careful what they ask for) here is my photo diary for the EuroTrib April 2012 Paris Meet Up.

I'll begin with the view leading up to Paris as our Air France flight from Munich was landing at CDG:

I am inordinately fond of these "fields of gold" and have so many photos of them from visits to Europe going back to 1989 that they serve as proof of an obsession.

Friday Photo Blog - ENERGY

by Wife of Bath Sun Dec 4th, 2011 at 05:06:21 AM EST

So here's a photo blog taking a very liberal view of the subject of Energy. That's because my photo library hasn't provided enough in the way of "serious" energy examples, so there. But I'll begin with something sentimental and fitting to European Tribune:

Fri Photo Blog - Bridges & Streams

by Wife of Bath Sat Oct 29th, 2011 at 08:44:16 AM EST

So, ready or not, Bridges and Streams. I used "streams" rather than "rivers" to broaden the range a bit, though I can't actually imagine any Eurotribbers being inhibited by the wording of a theme.

I'm starting with some easily recognizable spots.

Friday Photo Blog - The Neighborhood

by Wife of Bath Sat Oct 15th, 2011 at 06:03:48 AM EST

I hope I'm not being presumptuous or stepping on any toes by doing a Friday Photo blog. I take so many photos, I thought it might be something I could contribute. So this week, as an introductory photo diary, I've chosen "The Neighborhood" as a subject, as surely many of you will have photos of your own areas that could be easily shared.

I find my neighborhood, in Berchtesgadener Land, especially beautiful. It makes living in a little apartment much easier (85 sq m) and, hopefully, will entice some Eurotribbers to visit. There are hundreds of hikes around here, plus historical sites, skiing... well, you have computers.  And the best part of our apartment is the L-shaped balcony with the view of Kehlstein.

The little tip of mountain just to the left of center is where Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest) is located.  This is basically the same balcony view at a different time:

Museums I Love -- with some Photos

by Wife of Bath Sun Jun 29th, 2008 at 12:28:42 AM EST

Okay, I finally have done a diary, sprinkling some photos throughout from museums I've visited and loved.  You'll recognize some images, and some may be from exhibits that are no longer around.  I've tried to provide brief reviews of the websites of the museums, as some are fascinating to explore and contain impressive amounts of information.

I begin in the USA, then on to Europe, hoping this group won't find that too presumptious of me - I LOVE your museums.  I'm hoping some of you will share information that will make my next trip over the pond more memorable, especially if you have tips for Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, Lyon or Paris and environs.
