I have been reading this blog for more than a year now (although I don't post for most of the time) and I just realized that there is only one diary covering the fate of the Bulgarian (and Palestinian) medics in Libya, charged with intentionally infecting Libyan children with the virus of HIV. In the light of the "You Are Not Alone" campaign recently started by Bulgarian media, I decided to try and update you on the case as well as make a plea to you.

In the last week once again the world has focused its attention on the events taking place in Israel and Palestine. After the success in the January 25 elections in Palestine, Hamas were expected to present the candidates for their new cabinet. At the same time, following the three-month coma of Ariel Sharon, the parliamentary elections were scheduled for March 28 in Israel. However, even in the time of transition of governments in office, the main concern of both Israel and Palestine as well as the rest of the world lies with the peaceful resolution of the dispute over the control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
UPDATE: Here is a link to the other diary on the same topic:

The first energy source to ever be used by humans was biomass. Man was aware of the wood's usefulness in producing fire, and thus heat, more than 400,000 years ago. Yet over the course of history, oil and its byproducts turned out to surpass in efficiency any other energy source. Oil is even perceived to have caused several economic recessions (1973 OPEC Crisis) as well as given rise to a number of armed conflicts (The Gulf War, partly the War on Terror). Current estimations discussed on EuroTrib show that crude oil fields will be depleted at latest by 2100. The question that we are facing - Is there anything as efficient and non-harmful (it turns out most of the current alternative energy sources are even less environment-friendly than petroleum) as oil that we could use in its place?
